It used to be free to renounce your US Citizenship. Why should it now cost $450? If Americans get so fed up and financially screwed over by the US Government, they would probably not have the money for the documents to renounce their citizenship and leave. Most passport fees have gone up $35. It will cost you $82 if you want extra pages for you passport, for "labor". Just isolating on these fees, we can see what a rip the US is really becoming.
