An Open Letter to Bernie Sanders & his Campaign Staff

Follow Me on Twitter     Message William Cormier

Senator Sanders,

I am attempting to post this letter to your Facebook site in the hopes that you will have the chance of reading it personally. In spite of all of the recent polling that indicates you are the Democrat's favorite Presidential Candidate, with the manner in which the DNC is stacked against you, I fear your Campaign may be doomed to failure unless your Campaign Staff takes several measures to ensure that you have a fair chance in the 2016 Presidential Election.

I read a glowing Op-Ed on the Huffington Post titled "It's Official -- Bernie Sanders Has Overtaken Hillary Clinton In The Hearts and Minds of Democrats," and their reference to an Op-Ed written by Salon.com titled "Hillary Clinton is going to lose: She doesn't even see the frustrated progressive wave that will nominate Bernie Sanders," I am deeply pleased that you are receiving such tremendous grassroots support. That said, your campaign is not out of the woods by any shape, form or fashion. The DNC and MSM are working to Crown Hillary as their preferred Candidate, and as it stands at this moment, that is exactly what I predict will happen. I know how Super-Delegates can and will skew the Primary and so do you. Working together, we can change the entire dynamic of this election, and if we work hard enough, ensure that you receive your fair chance of becoming the Democratic Presidential Nominee!

Please take note that the referenced Salon.com Op-Ed was written on June the 22nd, 2015. Allow me to present another Salon.com Op-Ed that is defeatist in nature, and was posted yesterday, the 22nd of this month. I find the Op-Ed to be offensive, as they state if Hillary wins the Democratic Nomination, Sander's supporters should vote for Hillary Clinton to prevent a Republican from getting into the White House. There is some logic in that statement. However, they offer nothing that could help to energize your base to capture the hearts and minds of millions of Americans that the DNC and MSM have marginalized you from reaching on a national basis as they do for the GOP frontrunners and the DNC. The deck is stacked against you Senator Sanders, and it is one that you can reshuffle if your campaign advisers think out of the box. Please read several excerpts from Salon's most recent Op-Ed, and see for yourself how defeatist in nature it is; it sends precisely the wrong message to all of your supporters. The article is titled: "Bernie Sanders backers beware: It's up to you to keep movement alive if Hillary Clinton takes primary:"

"It's been obvious from the start of the 2016 presidential race that just about the entire Democratic Party establishment is in the tank for Hillary Clinton. The head of the Democratic National Committee is one of her 2008 campaign co-chairs, and the DNC has refused to allow more than six debates, deliberately scheduled them at comically bad times to prevent Clinton challengers from getting much attention, and most recently cut off Bernie Sanders' campaign from its own data."

"The DNC's obvious bias is bad. It's also utterly predictable. Clinton has deep ties to party elites thanks to her husband being a former President and her serving as secretary of state for the current president. It's something less than shocking that the party's elites are putting their thumbs on the scales against an avowed socialist primary competitor."

Unfortunately, all of the above is true and correct. It is obvious that you too are aware of the two-faced Clinton Campaign and their ties to Wall Street and Corporate America, particularly the Mainstream News Media. The recent Salon.com Op-Ed is, in essence, a capitulation message, one that neither you or the American people should accept. When I read the below segment of the above referenced Op-Ed, my blood began to boil:

"Therefore, for Sanders' supporters, I suggest that the overriding electoral priority ought to be to continue to participate in the political system. Demonstrate that there is a bloc of votes out there for social democracy; tactics come second. Vote for the left-most candidate in the primaries, vote for the Working Families Party, vote for some single-issue candidate, or even try and get yourself elected to something. If you feel like voting for a doomed protest candidate, or writing in Eugene Debs, or some other form of 'throwing your vote away,' go head, and don't listen to any party hacks who try and bully you out of it."

It's hard to disagree with this. It's critical that the voters animated by the Sanders campaign, many of whom were previously indifferent to the process, continue to participate beyond 2016.

Otherwise, the Sanders movement will have been in vain.

Senator Sanders, I do not bite my tongue. Your Presidential Campaign is in a precarious position as illustrated by an article in the Washington Post that demonstrates how Clinton is using Wasserman to rig the primaries to Crown Hillary Clinton. Read: The Insiders: "Watching Debbie Wasserman Schultz grovel is painful." Hillary Clinton, in spite of her smiles and cheerful demeanor, is playing dirty, and she is playing for keeps. How has progress been for changing the debate times to a time when you can reach millions of television viewers in the Democratic Presidential Debates? That was a rhetorical question; we know how futile anyone's efforts are when faced with Hillary's Wall Street backed campaign as she attempts to convince the American people that she is not beholden to Wall Street. When was the last time Wall Street offered huge campaign donations and did not expect anything in return? We all know the answer is never!

Senator Sanders, when you are faced with this, as referenced in link above, you know the deck is stacked so deep against you that it will take a radical campaign move to reach the millions of people that you seek to support you in this Presidential Election. It is time to think out of the box and rely on your millions of supporters for help, among other strategies:

"This is Washington machine politics at its best -- or maybe its worst. In a year when others are struggling to distance themselves from Washington and politics as usual, Team Clinton is doing what they do best and engaging in blatant, self-serving manipulation. Rep. Wasserman Schultz's desire to hang onto some semblance of power is well-known, and it's almost embarrassing. She was mostly disowned by the Obama White House a long time ago. She was never a Clinton favorite either, but her desperation to continue her vanity project as DNC chair has given the Clinton Empire the opening to manipulate her by having fewer debates." LINK

Senator Sanders, I humbly offer the below suggestions to reinvigorate your Presidential Campaign. Hillary Clinton is playing dirty, and while I am not suggesting you do the same, I do believe that it is time for you to turn up the rhetoric against her as much as possible. Keep this in mind Senator Sanders; millions of Americans think you may be the best and last hope of reclaiming our Democratic Republic from the plutocrats and corporate fascists. If you love this country as we all know you do, utilizing every avenue to get more publicity and exposure to the American people is tantamount to your eventual success. Please consider the below-listed options. The future of our nation may rest upon your decision to put your campaign in overdrive by utilizing resources that are plainly within your grasp.

1. We learned that your campaign set a new national individual campaign record for all recorded Presidential Campaigns when you reached 2.3 million contributions after Saturday night's Democratic Debate. This indicates you have those email addresses on file and have a veritable army to support your election campaign. This is a resource that you need to mobilize. It is time to start leaning on the DNC and the Mainstream News Media. Senator Sanders, please allow me to refresh your memory in regard an event that took place approximately one decade ago. "The Thought Crime Prevention Bill, Hr-1955 & S-1959" was making its way through Congress under a press blackout and it was fast-tracked for approval. We the People found out about it through leaked information, and you know yourself what happened. We shut down the switchboards in Congress, the White House, and every other Federal office we could think of. We brought telephone, email, and fax operations to a standstill in the White House and Congress. I was a prominent player in that endeavor and wrote Op-Ed's for my site as well as posting on College Newsletters that reached hundreds of thousands of college students. You were in Congress and are aware of what we accomplished. The bill died in committee.

It is time to shame and force the Mainstream Media and the DNC into playing fair in this Primary season as well as the General Elections. Use your supporters to your advantage. Send them emails to request their support and set an exact date for them to assail NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, and CNN with the same type of campaign that we directed in the past at the White House and Congress. Show the urgency of lending a helping hand, and ask them to enlist others that support you, but may be too poor to donate to your campaign. Ask them to be relentless in calling, sending email and faxes to all of the phone numbers that you target for chaos -- and chaos it will be! It is time for you to take off the gloves. My background, among other things, is a Sales Manager and Sales Trainer. I know how to motivate people. You also can speak to a crowd and hold them in the palm of your hand, but alone and on the campaign trail, you cannot make enough of a difference to win the primaries!

2. Rob Kall, the Editor of Opednews.com, made another suggestion that would bring you instant national publicity. Mr. Kall is also thinking out of the box. His article was short and to the point: "Bernie Sanders Should Stand Up To The DNC and debate Republicans Now" I agree with Mr. Kall. The two Republican Frontrunners, Trump, and Cruz, have huge egos and probably believe they can smash you in a debate. Throw the gauntlet down! This is no time for useless strategy meetings that you staff in going through in an effort to break the stranglehold the DNC and MSM have in the election process and they are marginalizing you right out of your right to participate in debates on Prime Time T.V. as well as covering other aspects of your campaign as they do for other Presidential Candidates. When faced with an impossible task, if the energy of your base that will overcome obstacles that would take far too long to run through our court process:

"Just as Donald Trump has the GOP leadership shaking in their boots, Bernie Sanders has the DNC nervous. He should go further... time for Bernie to psych them so they need to change their pants. People are sick and tired of party politics. This election season has shown that people want a candidate who shows he doesn't bow down to hack party leaders.

The DNC has seriously hurt Sanders by restricting the number of debates, and scheduling the authorized ones for low viewership time slots-- Saturday nights, and competing with multiple NFL football games. Bernie should publicly snub the DNC's edict that primary candidates who debate Republicans will not be allowed to participate in debates. This is not a legitimate rule anyway. Bernie should get into it with Trump, Cruz, Rubio, any candidate who will engage. He should notify the press and the DNC that he's going to do it, then do it. When the DNC tries to tell him to stop, he should tell them to pound sand-- that they don't have the right to keep him silent, which is what they've been doing." LINK

Finally, this is the most opportune time in our history since the Fairness Doctrine and Equal Time Rule could be challenged in Federal Court via a Federal Civil Rights Action. It is time for SCOTUS to intervene because we have the preponderance of the evidence that the DNC and MSM are attempting to rig the 2016 Presidential Election. If they do not rule in our favor, using the evidence we have, it would be tantamount to sedition and treason. I have set-up a "Go Fund Me" page to raise the necessary funds to file said Federal Lawsuit. Read my brief synopsis of the situation at gofund.me/kffvqfr9. So far I have only raised $100.00, but it is Christmas and the page has only been up for a few days. I have the management skill and legal expertise to file said suit using every resource that is available at the colleges and law libraries, among other resources, to make this happen.

Even if we should lose the lawsuit, the arguments and precedents will undoubtedly be covered by the MSM, but only if you follow the advice I have offered in point one and two.

Senator Sanders, I am making these recommendations because extreme circumstances need extreme reactions. You have 2.3 million potential soldiers of the Sanders Campaign at your disposal. Use the. I too donate what little I can afford to your campaign, and I also believe you are the United States' best and last hope of retaining our Democratic Republic for the people, not the 1% and Corporate America. You shoulder an enormous responsibility, Senator Sanders. I wish you the very best, for myself, my children and their grandchildren. Millions of other Americans hold these same thoughts. My only regret is that I am not a member of your campaign staff. Kick them into high gear; Senator Sanders, we are all counting on you!

Respectfully submitted,

William J. Cormier, Jr.
