Bill Clinton said it best in summing up the
Republican campaign strategy: we left you a horrendous mess, you didn't
fix it all in four years, so we'll take back that office and pick up where we
left off. He said it again just yesterday in Minnesota-- why was he in Minnesota? Don't answer that.
We never did get the campaign we
expected this year. A seemingly conflict-averse President Obama never
took it to "em like we expected--never laid out a vision for the next four
years. And Mitt Romney is lost in the Book of Platitudes, which may,
ironically, be just enough to win.
Neither candidate got the race they expected. Romney thought the tepid recovery
would doom Obama outright. Obama thought that Romney would never recover
from the pathetic spectacle known as the Repub primary campaign. "
