Today (December 22, 2012) I found this particularly shocking photo on the website of a CONNECTICUT gun manufacturing company, (Auto Ordnance Corporation) founded by John Thompson (maker of Tommy Machine gun) in business since 1916.
The way I found this photo is that I was looking at my father's college yearbook and found this advertisement of a Tommy Machine Gun made by the same CONNECTICUT company:
The college yearbook is my father's United States Naval Academy yearbook, that was issued on December 1941, twelve days after Pearl Harbor. In context, the Naval Academy Tommy machine gun does not seem so shocking. The class graduated a half year early, and my father went off to fight WWII.
But the CONNECTICUT AUTO ORDNANCE CORPORATION has the machine-gun toting woman on a motorcycle up on their website, as we speak. Guns, Sex, and Violence to sell...and KILL.
After the Sandy Hook massacre in Connecticut, over a week ago, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. I am tempted to mouth profanities, but in the name of children, will not.
