Today's Tampa Bay Times reports on Hillary's endeavor "to clarify" her use of classified information on her private email server and her testimony re such thereafter.
Hillary's clarification was that she "didn't lie," she had "misspoken," and "may have short-circuited," and that using her private server was "a mistake" rather than a gross violation of federal law, i.e. a crime.
Others guilty of such "mistakes" have suffered grievously. Chelsea Manning faces 34 years in federal prison. Edward Snowden is in indeterminable exile in Russia. Julian Assange, a Swede, faces American capture should he dare leave his diplomatic protection within the Ecuador Embassy in London.
But our would-be Madam President Clinton simply has "misspoken," "may have short-circuited," and made a "mistake." One seriously wonders if such is true, or was it more likely that she wanted to hide her personal dealings within the government from the government, or did arrogance simply triumph over security concerns.
If -- as indeed seems likely -- she wins the Battle of the Bullshitters vs Trump, one can only hope and pray she does not the same with the presidential Nuclear Missile Launch prerogative.
