Yesterday I went to the local state (Florida) drivers' license office to file my change of address, where I was asked, "Do you have the required documents?"

I replied that I have a valid Florida driver's license and asked incredulously what more could be needed? I was then given a list which required: a copy of my birth certificate, my social security card, and two other documents which could include the deed to my house or mortgage document, utility bill or hookup, a "statement from the person you live with along with two (more) address documents in that person's name."

In addition, "any women (such as my wife) using a married name" are required to produce all "marriage certificates or court orders that show name change from maiden name to present name."

I exited the office not only in frustration and contemplation of the required document hunt, but also in rage at yet another coup by the Military-Industrial-Security-Bankster Complex.

Afraid that a national identity card is in your future? It's very likely that you already have the equivalent in the form of your driver's license. And wouldn't an implanted chip be all that much more effective and efficient?

Then this morning I awoke to the St. Petersburg (Florida) Times' headline: "Attack Leaves U.S. Few Korea Options," along with mention that 28,000 U.S. troops are (still) stationed in South Korea with another 47,000 troops (still after 65 years!) in Japan." Isn't that fortuitous that our forces to "spread democracy" are already in place and can be summoned to action via the Red Phone by a single person at four o'clock any morning?

Shadows of "Remember the Maine," the Tonkin Gulf incident, Grenada, and the WMD descended upon my perspective. And is not North Korea more "doable" now than, say, Iran or Venezuela, which we can expect are also on The List?

And then, all this atop yet another article on the TSA's determination to persevere in physically probing the crotches of six year-old girls and to fill their graphic screens with the pubic details of grandmothers and nuns.

What can we now expect after ten years of an unjustified war that Obama says has four more years to go (maybe more) and with our Bill of Rights trashed and our privacy monitored by state security thugs? What will be the Civil Rights Activists' and the Peace Movement's response now that the cause of freedom and democracy and peace has already been lost right inside the good ol' USA, and in large part perhaps due to their other motives and objectives (organizationitis, activist celebrity, hobbyism, etc) or simply ten years of sheer friggin fecklessness?

More signs on the street corners and articles such as this will not change the course of the internal and internationalist treachery.

In all reverence, for Christ's sake, it's time to stop fooling others and ourselves, reject the bullshit, both external and internal, and reach for and grasp the intelligence, integrity and courage to do something that finally makes an actual difference !
