Wake Up, Dimocrats!

Message Rafe Pilgrim
This item was titled to indeed not spare Repukians of fully deserved exposure, but on the quite reasonable assumption that few if any of that partisan perversion would choose to read this decent organ.
.
And, yes, anyone with the brains of a fruit fly knows the Repukians, if not complicit, are equally moronic, if not imbecilic to one's own best interests and humanity's.  And whatever the partisanship,  it really makes not a fly speck of difference which major-party Mr. (or Mrs!) Hopey-Changey cons and claws his (or her!) way into our oval office in 2016, because he (or she!) won't be working in the best interests of those who voted for him (or her!) -- goodness what a naive concept -- but, of course, for the one or two dozen or so (not all U.S.) Big Buckster Bandits who control our banks, our mortgages, our resources and such as pipelines, our atmosphere, our water, our genetically engineered food, our health, our education, our wages, our wars, the diminution of our Constitution -- now an idealistic artifact -- etc, ad infinitum.
.
But don't take it from this ex-lifelong Democrat -- there follows a bit from Chris Hedges, who in fact has been known to strip the costuming off both partisan charades now and then.
.
"We live in what the German political scientist  Ernst Fraenkel  called 'the dual state.' Totalitarian states are always dual states. In the dual state civil liberties are abolished in the name of national security. The political sphere becomes a vacuum 'as far as the law is concerned,' Fraenkel wrote. There is no legal check on power. Official bodies operate with impunity outside the law. In the dual state the government can convict citizens on secret evidence in secret courts. It can strip citizens of due process and detain, torture or assassinate them, serving as judge, jury and executioner. It rules according to its own arbitrary whims and prerogatives. The outward forms of democratic participation--voting, competing political parties, judicial oversight and legislation--are hollow, political stagecraft."
.
One last tip:  the "lesser-evil" dodge doesn't work anymore.  Dimocrat or Repukian, El Presidente or La Presidenta, either works for the same folks now, and it isn't us.
.
So what's the positive message?  We need to start thinking about something other than the same trap now set by the two major political parties.  We need something else before the historical corrections (revolution or invasion) obtain.
.
We may not "win" in 2016, but we need to start now.  NOW is the time.  WHO?  WHAT?  HOW?  What do YOU think?  Make it something DIFFERENT  from the current wretched bipartisan chokehold on our economic interests, our environment, our civil rights, our wars of THEIR choice, and our children's future.
.
Awaiting your word -- hopefully devoid of the typical partisan bullshit.
.
...............Sincerely and impatiently -- Rafe Pilgrim

Rafe Pilgrim, after "a life largely wasted on hard honest work," found himself a jungle of turkey oak, scrub pine and giant palmettos up a dirt road running east of Crystal River, Florida, which neither school busses nor the U.S. Postal Service dare (more...)
