Media that sees itself as part of the press (like OpEdNews does) has a duty to ensure that key stories are getting coverage when they are not. That's especially true for independent or progressive media, which has an obligation to pick up the slack when corporate media chooses to let something go unreported or under-reported. OpEdNews cannot promise to cover everything to the extent that topics or issues deserve but it can commit to not letting stories with wide implications fall through the memory hole.
As OpEdNews heads into the new year, OpEdNews would like to know what its members would like to see writers pay more attention to in the new year. What do you find important that has not been written about enough this year and should be followed more closely in 2011?
Here are some topics that OpEdNews might not have covered as well as it could have this year. Vote for the one that you think you would like to see OpEdNews cover more of in the new year. If none appeal to you, make your own suggestion in the comments section and don't vote. You can write "I didn't vote..." in the subject line of your comment.
Thanks for participating in the poll and onward to 2011.
