Anti-Chinese propaganda and economic sanctions have been deployed to try to provoke a conflict, perhaps a war with China. Needless to say, the results are damage to the American economy and to US credibility internationally.

Phase 1: Shifting ships and aircraft to South China Sea
Phase 2: Propaganda about ethnic minorities in Tibet and Uighur
Phase 3: Attacking China's global connectedness and development programs
Phase 4: Tarriffs that hurt the US more than China
Phase 5: Kidnapping daughter of China's largest telecomm manufacturer
Phase 6: US support of Hong Kong democracy protests

This is a sad story while the US program has little effect. But should we succeed in provoking a war with China, the result will be World War III.
