Coal's no way to make the job market hop

Op-ED article from January 2013 comparing the amount of coal jobs at Cherry Point to clean energy jobs that could be utilized. All along the PacNW and British Columbia coasts, First Nations and other coastal residents are mobilizing to try to protect vulnerable inland waterways and seas and their livelihoods. The Coal Industry touted all the jobs that these terminals are purported to bring, but those will mainly be temporary construction jobs. The real figures of permanent, year round jobs are far more dismal, and the risks of oil spill and other ecological disasters are not worth it.
