2016 candidate Hillary Clinton sounds like 2008 candidate Barack Obama and even 2012 candidate Mitt Romney on trade. Leveling the playing field on global trade rarely is the top issue on the beltway, other than during an election year, because the campaign donor class don’t want global trade to be fair, balanced and sustainable.
In Hillary Clinton’s OP-ED, the only time she uses the phrase I will is: I’ve fought against these unfair practices before, and I will do it again. This is versus using tentative phrases like: we have to (4 times), we need to (3 times), we should (3 times), we can (2 times) and if we (1 time) for a total of thirteen times.
The OP-ED is a clear signal to the campaign donor class from Hillary - You call continue sending me campaign donations, because you have nothing to fear from me on global trade!!!
