In the wake of the Florida shooting, a top GOP donor is threatening to withhold funds from GOP lawmakers unless they support an assault weapons ban. "It's the end of the road for me," Al Hoffman Jr., a prominent Florida real-estate developer, told The NY Times. "For how many years now have we been doing this — having these experiences of terrorism, mass killings — and how many years has it been that nothing's been done?" Hoffman has previously donated millions to GOP candidates ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and former Pres. George W. Bush. The Florida school shooting prompted survivors and activists to mobilize on Saturday, unleashing torrents of anger at lawmakers, the NRA, and Trump for lax gun-control regulations.
