Earlier last year, the US Department of Homeland Security put out an open call for border wall designs. Some firms did not submit ordinary plans.

They don't seem so "crazy" now. A Mall-in-a-Wall might be just the thing to hold hundreds of migrants until they can be processed. And might earning credits in a 1900 mile X 1 mile wide bi-national border town be a better citizen screener than anything ICE is doing? It would certainly be better than forcing migrants to wait in the worst Mexican towns, where gangs steal from them & kidnap them.
