Who Holds Our Debt?

With the upcoming debate on raising the debt ceiling it is interesting to better understand who is owed. This might also show why it is said the Social Security Trust Fund is "going broke" and needs to be downsized. Actually, what it needs is to be paid the money that was taken from it.

It is also interesting to know whether, in fact, that debt is being paid, or simply goes unpaid....Maybe our country does not pay its debts to its own people.
