Mark Anielski is President and CEO of Anielski Management Inc (AMI) located in Edmonton, Alberta. As an economist he works with communities, businesses and governments to help them assess, measure
and manage their genuine wealth -- the things that matter most to their well-being, quality of life and sustainability. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta, School of Business and teach a course in Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Entrepreneurship.
Vanessa Timmer is co-founder and Director of the One Earth Initiative. With her sister Dagmar, she co-hosts the Canadian television show The Sustainable Region. Vanessa sits on the Board of Judith Marcuse Projects, a not-for-profit that promotes art practice as a transformative tool, creating positive social change. From 2006-2008, Vanessa was Project Manager (External Relations) at Metro Vancouver (formerly Greater Vancouver Regional District).
David Hughes is a geoscientist who has studied the energy resources of Canada for nearly four decades, including 32 years with the Geological Survey of Canada as a scientist and research manager.
Mel Lehan is a teacher and longtime community builder. Mel co-founded St. James Community Square, a recreational and cultural space; organized a successful effort to save affordable housing in Kitsilano; and led the creation of adventure playgrounds at Tatlow Park and Beaconsfield School.
For his work Mel has received awards from the David Suzuki Foundation, the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce and Kitsilano Neighbourhood House.
Conrad Schmidt is a Vancouver filmmaker and writer working at the cusp of economic and social change to enable an ecologically viable future. He is the author of Workers of the World Relax and Alternatives to Growth and the director of the film Five Ring Circus.
