EHUD BARAK, DEFENSE MINISTER: Hamas is responsible for the massive bloodshed and loss of life which people are seeing images of on monitor screens. Their primitive weaponry, while no match for our state-of-the art technology developed with taxpayer dollars from people who do not live in this country, is directly causing innocents to suffer vicious bombardments of their homes.
QUIGLEY: Barak walked the press through the images being shown worldwide explaining each detail and how Hamas is to blame for all of it.
BARAK: Hamas operates from inside population concentrations and keeps explosive devices in civilian areas. While military could take out simply those who are spotted with rockets, Israelis do not deserve to have what is like lethal spit balls shot at them when they are trying to live peacefully. That those without power like us would challenge our dominion ---Well, you would stand up to this insult and do the same if it were your country.
QUIGLEY: No one from the White House or Obama’s transition was available for comment. However, the White House Public Relations team released this statement.
“How would you like it if you were eating your dinner with family and a rocket intruded on what you may consider a precious moment of your day? As you can see, Hamas has inflamed the Israelis and until Hamas is cured and stopped from wiping Israel off the map we will support moves to create an environment where Israeli children can be safe and eat their food and sleep in their beds at night in peace.”

WILMINGTON: Now, joining us is an unidentified spokesperson from the Obama transition team who will give us their reaction to the unfolding events without saying anything that will make the Bush Administration think the team would like to get into office within the next month and change the accepted way of doing things here and abroad.
UNIDENTIFIED SPOKESPERSON: Yes, William, it’s great to be here this New Year’s Eve. We wish everyone a happy New Year. We hope to see the violence end in Gaza soon but understand the temptation Israel has to use the billions of dollars worth of weaponry in its possession. Again, we wish everyone a happy New Year and pray for the little boys and girls in schools who are threatened by these mass murderers in these dark times.
