This war we're in is neither new nor GW begun, but having better tools of discernment, we can resist prevailing media winds of discourse, and sail on, overcoming our desire to give up or give in.
Our nation has evolved through our war: races pitted against race, fear attacking risk, uncivil south rising again against north, conservative vs. liberal, and battle of the sexes. Even before our Declaration of Independence from it, it has always been by any other name, simply "Our Only War:' the takers vs. the taken -- between those who choose owing and those who yield to being owned.
One half of our Second Continental Congress pleading for freedom from oppression as "something in the air' akin to morality, enticing us to self-realization, while one percent predecessors banked on , --most men with nothing would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich than face the reality of being poor."
Desperate times can breed extreme passionate "Me first" self-protection at the expense of love (and compromise with) thy neighbor: Spawning selfish self-protection's recipe for self-destruction.
We now live in an America where GW got two turns and Mitt may leave Obama with only one. Are we birthing a new nation of conservatism which a Liberal like Jesus is passing by?
