Mellman goes on to say, “By ending employer-sponsored health insurance and replacing it with an individual market in which everyone buys their own policy, McCain’s plan will drive up costs for families. Ending employer-sponsored coverage is itself playing with fire.”
Now this one you are going to really love: Mellman wrote, "Asking up to two-thirds of the American public to relinquish health insurance they like, provided through their employer, puts the McCain-Bush plan on life support." I opine that's the best case scenario only if a nuclear exchange does not get in the way.
Where exactly is the peace of mind for most American families when, "McCain is recreating the days when insurance companies insisted on drive-by deliveries and drive-by mastectomies; he will have insurance company bureaucrats, not doctors, determine which treatments and which tests are covered." He will also ask employers to stop paying the $12,000 paid for family coverage and give the taxpayer a $5,000 tax credit. This will double what a family has to pay in order to keep their health insurance.
In a press release by the GOP concerning the beating Wall Street is taking today, they quoted McCain, “The McCain-Palin administration will replace the outdated and ineffective patchwork quilt of regulatory oversight in Washington and bring transparency and accountability to Wall Street. We will rebuild confidence in our markets and restore our leadership in the financial world." Exactly where has McCain the ‘maverick’ been during these past eight years as Wall Street has taken a beating time-and-time again? Most likely staring at a map of Iran.
Folks, if the thought of going to war with countries such as Russia and Iran does not bring you to your knees, McCain’s economic plan will do just that. There is no peace or prosperity coming from a McCain/Palin administration, only more war and more grief felt by the American tax payer. While some in the past have said they would leave the country if Bush were elected, our economics today proves that, in reality, people can’t do that. But I suppose folks would be more apt to taking Xanax to relieve their anxiety. Oops, do you have health insurance to pay for a doctor to write that prescription? If you don’t, I suppose liquor stores will be one of the few businesses prospering in a McCain/Palin administration.
