Citizens Mourn Anniversary of Ohio's "Death of Democracy"

November 2nd, Friday at noon will begin with a rally and New Orleans-style funeral service for the ‘Death of Democracy” starting at the Ohio State House. The processaion wil start at the McKinley statue at noon, and will proceed and wind around the office buildings housing the state’s election officials. Jazz band players will lead the parade, and the public is welcome to join peacefully in the procession.

 

From 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 Weisheimer Rd., Clintonville, please attend the Memorial Service for Democracy. Come share your feelings and stories of disenfranchisement during and after the events of 11/2 2004, the date of the Ohio general election sanctioned by the Bush-Cheney campaign re-election chairman, Secretary of State Blackwell.

 

 

From 7:00 p.m. till midnight at the Victorian's Midnight Cafe on Fifth and Neil, (go North on High, west on Fifth), citizens are invited to participate in dialogue to identify and frame the most significant issues for action for 2008. Music and speakers are promised for the event.
