When President Bush said to those reporters gathered at the news conference, “If the Iraqi government asks us to leave, we will leave.” I wanted to throw something at my television set as our casualty rate stands at over 3,400 precious lives lost forever. Well, President Bush we the American people in the last election told you we wanted out of Iraq, never mind what the Iraqi government says. Even Tucker Carlson of MSNBC said he thought you should have been impeached for saying that.
As House, Republican leader John Boehner cried his crocodile tears stating, "After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to take them on? When are we going to defeat them," Perhaps if you held your president’s feet to the fire and stuck to fighting in Afghanistan and did not let him redeploy the troops that surrounded Tora Bora to Iraq, we could have had all of them by now. To Mr. Boehner, terrorist networks extend all around this planet and we do not have the necessary troops to even think of fighting them. That is what your president did. He weakened our national security and God forbid another attack happens here, we are left defenseless both at home and abroad. Here I thought Republicans could be trusted with our national security.
I want to remind John Boehner when Jim Rutenberg of the NY Times shot President Bush this question of Osama bin Laden, "Mr. President, why is he still at large?" President Bush replied, "Because we haven't got him yet, Jim." Well maybe if this president stuck to the original mission which was our answer back for 9/11, instead of this bloody quagmire he so valiantly called ‘Mission Accomplished’ three years ago; he could have delivered him by now. No, the miscreant of a president executed a dictator that had NO connection to 9/11.
