Dangle: I favor Kucinich, but he's not going anywhere and I don't think Obama's going to make it, not because he's black, but because he's got a funny name. America isn't ready for anybody not named Tom, Tommy, or Thompson.
On the Republican side, in fact, I'm predicting someone named Thompson will get the nomination because there's two of them and the odds are higher.
If Hillary and Guiliani get picked, I will predict that CNN and FOX and MSNBC will all call it a "Subway Series" - that's a firm prediction.
Q: Why haven’t you been on the Daily Show or Stephen Colbert yet?
Dangle: I'll put out a challenge right now to Colbert to have me on his show! We actually have something in common. When I was covering the Republican Convention I actually ran into him on 8th Avenue while he was filming a bit for the Daily Show. He was so "on." Anyway, there we were, two intrepid reporters filing stories from the same violent protest. Actually it was a peaceful lovefest. It was about a hundred degrees and Colbert was wearing a blue wool suit, but he looked totally fresh. The man doesn't sweat.
Q. You covered the last Republican National Convention as the first ever cartoonist for Seattle-based The Stranger newspaper, are you're going to be covering the debates or this year's convention?
Dangle: Debates, celebrity trials, you name it, Dangle is available, my pen is rearing to go and I hope I get the chance, get me a press badge and a sandwich and I'll be there. I've also got this nifty hi-tech way of blogging my sketches live in real-time so it would be like watching TV only that it would be a TV that looks right into my brain. Like a hand-drawn teletype machine. Timeless.
