Defending ones country is honorable. Consciously participating in illegal wars of aggression is not honorable and certainly not heroic. Those men and women who serve the Pentagon beast's wars of aggression are simply the lethal end of unjustified and unnecessary overt and clandestine wars.
War is hell. Eisenhower knew it first hand and tried to warn the country in his now famous farewell address on the increasingly dangerous influence of the military/industrial complex. Ike sounded the alarm but his words were ignored.
Women in combat roles have nothing to do with the wrongheaded policies perpetrating the endless wars we're engaged in.
It's just too bad our men and women are just pawns and fodder for those who authorize and conduct these unnecessary affairs and put them in harms way unnecessarily.
