American liberalism failed to see evil, and failed out of fear to confront it. Blindness and fear are not the parts of ourselves we want our destiny to be governed by.
We need not be blind. Behold in the Bushites the face of facism, a form of organized crime, a bunch of lying thugs, the expression of America’s darkest side, a cruel lust for power.
See it for what it is.

There are strategies a whole lot better than the feint and then back down pattern of the Democrats in Congress. Moving to confrontation, then backing down.

I'm eager for truth to take on and defeat the lies. I yearn to see righteousness defeat this Bushite evil. I am frustrated by the failure of the Democrats in Congress to fully stand up to this dark, fascist regime.
But might one argue, as a devil’s advocate, that given the total condition of the country, it could be wiser to coast into a post-Bushite successor presidency, and avoid too direct a confrontation?
The idea is that this may be one strategy to win, and that the system is too weak to win through a more head-to-head confrontation.
According to this view, the system is strong enough to shove these guys out the door when the end of their term comes. And we then depend on the hope that the next guys are not such complete thugs, lusting for power and fueled by cruelty.
And I do expect that the Bushites WILL be squeezed out (not that I don’t sometimes worry) and that there will be an election that is at least more democratic than not, that the people will manage to reward more constructive leadership than these Bushites are.
And I do expect, though I have my fears, that America will not go over the edge into the abyss, even though it may also be something of a swamp.
Maybe there’s a more secure chance of getting past this fascist threat through a squeezing out than a facing down. Maybe the system really is too weak to defeat the Bushites in hand-to-hand combat, but strong enough to use the legal structure to hem them in and to squeeze them out in January, 2009.
Maybe in my own prophetic zeal I’ve over-estimated how much power of goodness and righteous energy there was available to mobilize in this civilization called America that has allowed itself to be overtaken by the forces of evil.
