The Cost of Gas

drive in
hop out
swipe my card
punch the pin
remove the cap
fill the tank.

sometimes,
when I pull out the nozzle,
a little gas gets on my hands, so,

I go in the store,
get the restroom key, and
wash my hands to get rid
of the petroleum smell.

Although,
no matter how hard I scrub,
I can never seem to
wash off the blood.
