Activists Organize Antiwar March in Philadelphia.

A broad coalition of peace and justice activists calling themselves the Philadelphia October 17th Mobilization Committee is organizing a March and Rally to End the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraqon Saturday, October 17. Marchers will gather at Philadelphia City Hall at11 AM and march to Independence Mall at 12 Noon. There will be a rally atIndependence Mall following the march.

The central demands of the organizers are: US Troops Out of Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan Now! and Money for Jobs and Human needs, not for wars and corporate greed!
Other demands of the marchers are:End war crimes including torture; Prosecute the war criminals,End US Support for the Israeli Occupation of Palestine; End the siege of Gaza,US Hands off Iran, Latin America and North Korea,Self-determination for all oppressed peoples and nations,and Abolish Nuclear Weapons.
The march has gathered a broad range of endorsers; including Brandywine Peace Community, Peace Action chapters, Veterans for Peace chapters, Greens, socialists and progressive Democrats.
There will be speakers representingpeace and justiceorganizations at the rally. These will include John Braxton from US Labor Against the War,Rev. Robert Moore of the Coalition for Peace Action, Susan Abulhawa of the charity, Playgrounds for Palestine and hip hop artist, Tha Truth.
