Almost Former Senator Norm Coleman has a Worthless Idea to Save GOP

"In the end, we need to compete, as I've said before, we need to compete in each and every kind of forum," said almost former Senator (losing to Al Franken) Norm Coleman, a Republican from Minnesota. He went on to say what the Republicans need to do to survive, "And whether it's on the ground traditionally, or today it's in -- it's in the ethernet. It's in the -- you know, it's online. It's in the blogs, it's Twitter, it's Facebook, and the next iteration."

Well, I disagree with Senator Norm Coleman on everything but here I almost agree with him. The internet or "ethernet" as Norm Coleman mistakenly referred to, would be useful if the Republican Party had a useful, workable idea that fits the reality of the economic and geopolitical situation the US faces today.

The Republican Right, Limbaugh, and the rest of talk radio is looked upon as a joke in this country by most stable minded people. It's so bad for talk radio that Limbaugh has recently been declared irrelevant by a GOP strategist.

Still Coleman is almost right here.

But to really compete on the "ethernet" you have to have some workable and not laughable ideas. The Republican big business, deregulation, pro-war platform has literally destroyed this country's economy and standing in the world. Unfortunately, the Democrats have helped them. The idea that you can promote the same proven disastrous policies, even if you dress it up a bit and try to sell it on the net, isn't going to work.

The Republican Party, to use Ronald Reagan's words, should be resigned to the "ash heap of history." It's over.

Or, as Reagan would also say, Mr Limbaugh and the rest of what is left of you knee jerk Republicans "tear down this wall" of stupidity. Allow the country to come together in a celebration of the end of your narrow minded and mostly silly Party and ideas.

The "ethernet" won't save the Republicans from themselves or their silly ideas.
