Who are the enemies of Peace, the American People and Humanity? Pogo knew: "We have met the enemy and he is us."

One would think that we could count on today's avowed followers of the Prince of Peace for support. The reality here is that the churchies won't let Him inside their holy fortresses today, favoring rather a model of behavior they term "civility" and individual redemption rather than to dare the passions to oppose the massive dereliction of the Sixth Commandment called War.

I was recently asked by a "nice" person why I do not attend church. I -- an ex-choir boy of her religious persuasion -- replied that I was more interested in working for peace. The "nice" person responded, "Oh, so you're one of those liberals!" The issue was thereby reduced to petty political bias of the most harebrained variety.

The Prince of Peace is in fact no longer featured as such in her spiritual arena. The massive violation of the Sixth Commandment called War is apparently never -- other than some pious version of the Support-Our-Troops mantra -- raised in her church, which one can imagine -- as exemplified by her -- has become some sort of a spiritual Disneyland with a sign at the gate saying "Entrance for Politically Correct Christians Only."

Coming from their different perspective, we also have enemies of Peace -- and thereby People and Humanity -- among Jews, many who support practically any inhumane actions they perceive to be advantageous to Israeli nationalism.

But the list goes on to yet more formidable enemies of the Peace, the People, Humanity, and America:

...Big-Money Interests, not necessarily all American, whose singular focus is to feed their insatiable greed beyond any moral or humane constraint.
.
...The American Government which is bi-partisanly indentured to those interests. (Lest we missed it, our President refused federal campaign funds, opting for more generous sponsorship from private interests -- out of the generosity and good nature of their hearts? No quid pro quo? What's wrong with this picture? Why is it -- why do WE permit it?)

...Americans of Political Partisanship who insist that their party is the messianic solution, regardless of what their representation actually does or even has done.

...And by far the largest of America's Enemies in America, is the American Electorate who are incapable of recognizing what is in their own best interests, but who are highly susceptible to waving flags, "supporting" youngsters sent afar to treacherous wars, and the propagandizing of lying politicians, self-serving moral arbiters and mercenary media talking puppets.

...Case closed -- or is this the slow closing of America's coffin?
