"Americans For Prosperity" Co-opts "Occupy" Name

By beverlywoodsFollow

Good grief.

WINDHAM -- We The People and Americans for Prosperity New Hampshire will host a rally on Thursday to coincide with President Obama's appearance in the state to discuss the economy. The event titled the "Occupy Jobs Now" Rally will take place at Norton's Diner, 233 Main Street in Nashua at 5:30PM.

"We The People is dedicated to preserving freedom, limited government and unlimited opportunity in America. Barack Obama 's failed policies crush all three. We must send a loud, clear message that NH rejects his "change" and demands a return to fiscal sanity," stated Jennifer Horn, President of We The People.

Of course " Americans for Prosperity" was against the Occupy movement before they decided to adopt its name:

"Occupy Wall Street protesters have a right to be heard. What should not be tolerated however, is the disturbing emergence of violent rhetoric coming from their members and supporters. Even more alarming is the fact that national labor unions and politicians like Nancy Pelosi have offered support for the protestors while turning a blind eye to their calls for violence and repeated violations of the law," said AFP President Tim Phillips.

Occupy NH is not amused and plans to Occupy the fake Occupiers.

 Facebook Event for today:

Stop the Koch Brothers from Co-opting Occupy
Public Event - By Mark Provost, Matt Lawrence and 5 others

            Today

            5:00pm until 8:00pm

The 1% have stolen our future, now they want to steal the Occupy name. Koch brother-funded Americans for Prosperity are hosting an 'Occupy Jobs' event in Nashua this Thursday, after a visit by President Obama. This is not partisan. The wealthiest and most corrupt people ...in the country are deliberating hijacking the Occupy label.

We will not tolerate the 1% stealing the language of the 99%. Time to crash their party and expose this fraud. Bring loud drums, whistles, and banners. Be at Norton's Diner 233 Main St., Nashua 5:00pm.

The 6-14 inches of snow NH is currently getting may put a bit of a damper on the event and counter-event, but it looks like we can expect "Americans for Prosperity" - or should we call it, more accurately, A Few Americans Seeking to Defend Their Disproportionate Financial Rewards? - will be seeking to sow confusion this year.
