How Democrats are Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Last Year's Election Victory

Dear Democratic leaders,

Â

Why do you hit up people on fixed incomes for money to fight your campaigns, and you fear monger us that if we don't give every last red cent we have that the Republicans will win? Aren't there any rich  and middle class Democrats out there? I think there are. So why do you tell us all a hard luck story?

Â

Why should I get all worked up when all I see now is the Democratic Party, nominally in power, surrendering all areas of the national stage to the GOP with its mainstream media allies providing the neocons with a giant megaphone? Democrats won t stand and fight, but roll over in Congress and let the GOPers and the Blue Dogs undo everything the American people voted for in the 2008 elections.

Don't come to me with your hat in hand for money. Do your job in Congress and tell the President to quit gallavanting and having beer parties and DO HIS.  Many of us out here live on a fixed income and are completely indigent. What s worse is that we in California are victims of a newly passed, GOP-strong-armed budget that has been heartlessly and cruelly balanced on the backs of the poorest and weakest citizens.

Â

So go ask someone else. The GOP has already raped the poor and put them out in the street to die, here in California.

I'm sick at heart because the Democrats of my state (and now too even on a national level)  have sold out their constituents and supporters. They should have done more to protect the most vulnerable and the neediest of us out here in California. Instead, the armbanded, be-swastika-ed GOP has begun the "final solution on the poor, the sick and the children and elderly of our state.

Â

You Democrats sold out the very people you were elected to get things done for: the average citizens of the United States.Â

And now on a proposed national healthcare reform plan, you are selling us out to the GOP neocons and their Blue Dog allies by ababandoning even the principle of the public option, much less the single payer option.

Â

The Republicans don t even have a majority in Congress and they lost the last election but you are surrendering to them on every front. They've managed to start poisoning the public s mind about Barack Obama and his new presidency and now the corporate lackeys you have allowed to all but stop healthcare reform in its tracks. Incredible!

Â

When we have a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress and a Democratic president, how is it that the GOP is virtually winning the national PR contest? Why do the Democrats allow the GOP+mainstream media alliance to dictate to us what we will talk about in our national dialog?
