Some will now have it that all Democrats are cowards, or bought off, perhaps simply innocently confused, maybe just plain ignorant, gravely afflicted, or helplessly possessed of the "lesser-evil" syndrome.
.
This is easily understood when one considers the Dems that get most headlines and who in turn do their very best to suppress those few exceptions who would stand to insist upon such blasphemy as Peace! (Can you imagine -- like tantamount to Treason!)
.
Were the truth permitted, there are a few who nourish opposition to even such as the generous interests who contribute to Obama's Billion-Buckeroo-Privately-Financed campaign fund for 2012, fattened by corporate sponsors whose identities are to be blanketed in secrecy per the recent Supreme Court decision in defense of something or other Constitutional, rather than political bribery as some radicals would have it.
.
My, how impressive that these generous private interests modestly shy from recognition! And can there be any doubt that currying favor with the Most Powerful Person in the World is the furthest thing from their minds and their accounts in the Cayman Islands?
.
With it all -- now get a grip -- there are actually some few decent Democrats, intelligent too, and who possess the courage of their convictions. My personal favorites happen to be Bernie Sanders, Sheila Jackson Lee, Alan Grayson (who lost his seat after but one two-year congressional stint) and a skinny little guy from a working class family in Cleveland, who just refuses to go away, and who many of the more respectable Dems will describe as "our biggest pain."
.
But then again, I'm the unrealistic ex-lifelong Dem who's unaccountably strung out on the notion posited by some old Chinese ethicist several thousand years ago, that the only human qualities worth valuing are Courage, Intelligence and Goodwill. (Dayem! No mention of Faith, Hope and Charity, Supporting the "Lesser-Evil," or Being a Good Dancer?)
.
Despite the fact that he's a Dem, and has little more support than me and the old Chinaman (who is not a registered voter) -- I'll still go with the skinny guy with the "foreign" handle, Kucinich (spelling?)
.
.
But before you (hopefully) go there, please be assured that I am not now nor ever have been a Communist or a Terrorist, nor have I ever enjoyed any connection with Denny or his supporters. Also, be assured that I am aware that my virtues have not always been up to the old Chinaman's standard, but I will vote for this person who by far in my estimation represents those standards closer than anyone else thus far mentioned for Imperator...er...President of the world's once-oldest democracy.
.
Perhaps, should we ever be so blest, with a Captain of Courage, Intelligence and Goodwill at the helm of the good ship America, we might even find our way through the Sea of Political Treachery, past the Sirens of Cowardice, through the Gates of Greed, finally to the Port of Peace and Political Decency, a course no other Captain has dared these past eleven years. Make that thirty.
.
Although the odds are against such navigation, I would celebrate that ship docking in Washington. A shred of wisdom advises, however, that a personal backup plan would be prudent. Is Brisbane a port city?
Leaving behind a treacherous government now addicted to perpetual war, its limitlessly greedy and power-lusting masters, as well as the retarded albeit smirky Republicans and their evermore clonish Democrat colleagues, a braindead electorate (
