As one gets older, one hopefully becomes wiser through reflecting upon the patterns in his or her life. Our lives are a weaving. In understanding that weaving we reveal the patterns to our lives which in turn reveals our life's purpose. While our life's purpose is one, how it manifests is in the pattern of the many experiences we have.

Our egos do not create our purpose. Rather, our lives and our egos reveal and arise from our purpose. And, our purpose is reflected in the phrase "E Pluribus Unim," in the many one. Thus in breathing we are part of the dance of creating the atmosphere on Earth in relationship to plants and other creatures. In doing so, we take part in the dance of one Being, Nature Herself. Thus, one purpose we have as a species is to support life.

I write often regarding the origins of this universe. However, my writings are oftentimes hard to understand because I do not see the origin as being in times past. I see creation as happening here and now. Creation, as Lex Hixon reflected in his translation of a Ramakrishna poem, revealed this beautifully when he wrote of the Goddess Kali:

More than creator and creation,

Mother is pure Creativity.

I fell in love with this teaching of Hixon/Ramakrishna for it touched upon a poem that I wrote in 1993. I don't declare myself as a poet, but as a lover. I don't mean my poetry to be taken as poetry, but as a reflection of what I love and am in awe of.

Beyond this world of time and space

Sophia stands alone"

Complete and whole unto Herself.

Sophia is not anything or anybody.

She just is!
