The Congressional Budget Office has released their long-awaited financial analysis of the cost of the proposed health care reform legislation and it seems the NeoCons are going to have to find another line of attack.
The report finds that the program will reduce the deficit by $138 billion over the next ten years -- surprise, surprise -- just as Democrats stated. Even better, the projected savings over the following decade is $1.2 trillion. Wow, that would almost dig us out of the near-bottomless debt-hole the Bush Crime Family plunged us into.
According to the report on CNN, "The measure extends health insurance coverage to 32 million Americans, helping to guarantee that 95 percent of Americans will be covered, the sources said. It also reduces Medicare expenditures by 1.4 percent annually while extending Medicare's solvency by at least nine years, they added."
Oh no, We can't have any of THAT!
What will Michele Bachmann slit her wrists over, or implore her followers to fail to pay their taxes over now? Will the protesters scream: "Stop Saving me Money!" "I Have the Right to Pay Too Much Money for Too Little Care!"
This report really knocked the wind of of their teabags. The Flying Monkeys were counting on a less favorable report from the nonpartisan CBO, which would help sell the American people on the idea that they should NEVER want of expect any thing comparable to the kind of health care coverage enjoyed by the rest of western civilization. But numbers don't lie, and neither do Democrats.
Unlike war funding, TARP bailouts, the cost of the MASSIVE Department of Homeland Security, and other Bush/GOP programs, the Democrats didn't deceive the public about the true costs, and this is a program that will actually help people, not corporations, and not fund death and destruction.
No wonder the Republicans hate it.
