Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies!!!!
One of the biggest lies that the health care opponents are spreading is the lie about government-run programs. They want people to think that President Obama is trying to hurt them and take over their health care like Socialism. What the President has been trying to do and has met opposition everywhere he turns is give health care (similar to Medicare) to all Americans. The Republicans would like for you to think he can't fund it and that is a lie. They just don't want him to have success because that means defeat for them. The insurance giants are doing everything they can to make sure that they still get their money threatening to not help with campaigns if lawmakers support this legislation. Wouldn't it be nice to know that everyone in this country has health insurance? Today we would see no fathers and mothers trying to figure out how they are going to fund a needed operation for their child. All President Obama is trying to do for you is pass what he campaigned on. That was "healthcare for all"!
We, that blogged for and defended the President have begun to reorganize we are tired of a campaign that never ends. Our President deserves respect. We have elected this man, sent him to Washington to face a lion's den. He has been non-stop since he got elected. We are getting tired of these lies being told. Our President is one man. He is not trying to make us a Socialist Country. He is trying to help our country survive through trying times. Usually, it is times like these that bring people together. When our country is down or when terrible things happen Americans help each other. If you would look around you would see much of that happening in healthcare. People who care are giving their time and service free to others. We have never been a people who sit back and watch suffering occur and choose to do nothing about it. There are people dying in America without proper health care. People are out of work and cannot afford food, let alone the high costs of healthcare. The biggest tragedy of all is while people are ill and dying in America two political parties are fighting over who will lose out or how much this will cost. One Senator even stopped extended unemployment benefits from passing in the Senate this past week. Yes, we are spending and we have a huge deficit. But, how many of us would give our life savings (many have) to save a loved one from a fatal disease? When my own daughter was ill with Cancer I couldn't help her financially (she did have insurance) but, my life stopped until she was well. Nothing else had meaning. We seem to poll the healthy people in the opinion polls. Poll those that have been rejected by insurance, poll those who are going through tragedies. Things take on a whole different meaning when it is you or your family that gets ill. The fact is it can happen to any of us. If we don't start working together our country isn't going to make it.
The most ignorant comment I have heard during this mess is "I don't need the government taking over my life." Well folks, I want my government in my life. At the funeral of my father who died with Cancer my government was there to give my mother a flag. Everyday in the classrooms across America (including mine) children salute the flag that stands for this amazing government. It is the government that we teach our children to live for. It is the government our young people are fighting for. It is the government by the people, of the people, and for the people. Our government runs many programs and I'm glad they do. Wouldn't it be nice if they could find a resolution for this healthcare crisis? The government needs to take over healthcare. Take a look at the many programs the government runs. I want my government to take over healthcare!
