Could Ronald Reagan Win?

I don't think Ronald Reagan could win this thing at this point in time. The big deal is the map, and with McCain pulling out of Michigan, behind in Virginia, Pensalvania, Florida, and Colorado, then I say, "that's all folks". I got more mail today from the McCain campaign begging for more money. As often stated, I gave McCain money in '99 in the primaries, as I was so afraid of Bush, but this appeal is asking for a bunch of loot. They want to raise 20 million in the first 10 days of October, and their lead in is, "With just 35 days remaining before Election Day, I urgently need you to return $200 or $150 in the enclosed Emergency Return Envelope to McCain-Palin Victory 2008 by October 10th." Further down, they say 200, 150, or 100. I guess if you are a cheapskate and don't really love your country you can send only $100.

I realize that the Democrats are very experienced at losing elections, but with the war, the economy, and all that goes with it, the Dems will have to really work hard at losing this one. Besides all the gloom, you have on one hand, an angry old man and on the other a brainless, "Joe six pack, and winking soccer mom." There has been little mention, if any, about Palin's comment about same sex marriage and the fact it disagreed with that of McCain. She may have also alienated some of the far right fundamentalist with her comment about her "other friends." For me, it was probably one of the nicer sides of her that I saw but to some of the far right to admit you have "those people" for friends is a bit too much.

I am not quite sure why we are all spending so much time on Palin, as she is now yesterday's news and last night was probably her high water mark except she does make such a good target. Stewart, Maher, and Colbert need to send her a check for the material she has provided them I will give her credit for being able to show a bit of human emotion, in her final handshake with Biden at least she did not look like the emotionless Mcsame. Could he be dead? Could the Repugs have finally figured out how to do that?
