The word DEMOCRAT is defined in my dictionary as "an advocate of democracy, one who champions political and social equality," and DEMOCRACY as "government by the people, a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people or by their elected agents under a free electoral system."
Finally admitting to itself that America was beset by a treacherous government, the electorate in 2006 voted into Congress a majority-Democrat opposition to stop the War-of-Lies and to start the cleanup necessary to restore decent governance.
What we got was uninterrupted funding for the slaughter in Iraq and impeachment "off the table." What we got was cowardice, if not complicity. What we got was betrayed.
And now the Democrats prepare for their next act, the election of 2008, which any reasonable person with the brain of a gnat and not congenitally treacherous assumes they will win, if for no other reason than (once again) they appear to be the lesser evil.
But what will the people actually get in January? Exemplars of truth and justice? Champions of the people? Another "Decider," and more partisan apparatchniks, power freaks and salaried rulers?
Consider where the process to power now stands, i.e. the preparation for the Democrat convention. Before the new Democrat president is elected by the voters, before he is even officially nominated by his party, we have the establishment of a "protest zone" outside of the Democrat's convention hall, 700 feet outside the convention hall, and obscured from the view of "our" delegates by a large tent, an arrangement validated by our "justice" system yesterday in dismissing an appeal by the American Civil Liberties Union.
Prior to the convention's start we can anticipate that our Democrat "leaders" will redesignate the "protest zone" (too negative and repressive sounding, don'cha know) as a "free speech zone," which has become the treacherous euphemism of choice lately, and -- calling once again upon a gnat's mentality -- logically means that if one must be confined in a designated zone to exercise free speech, then free speech is not permitted elsewhere -- no where else!
What does such pre-start to a Democrat administration auger for truth, justice, freedom and the people? Damned if I know. But I do know that people interested in such aspirations for America should be on the march and doing something MEANINGFUL to ensure that America's next chapter is more promising than the current one. And MEANINGFUL means something more than slogans and signs in front of the local courthouse on Saturdays.
My proposals for massive and enduring direct non-violent confrontation with our treacherous war-hawking Administration and its sycophants was universally rejected by the national "peace" organizations as "unrealistic," they apparently accepting the status quo as realistic, and by no means enthusiastic about any process that involved discomfort or risk to regain America. (One such org advised me that such an initiative--after five years of government lies, trashing of our Constitution, and slaughterous war--would interfere with its current priority, which was "to refine our organization." Really!)
So the question is once more: Is it worth it, and what should WE do now to stop a treacherous Administration and to prevent it's continuance under merely a different banner, the same banner, however, flown by those who betrayed our congressional votes in 2006?
