Poor Wall Street, takin' a beating, inside the Stock Exchange and outside the Stock Exchange -- the outside part being difficult to track, it being denied visibility in the slave media. At the same time, corporate balance sheets are actually flush with cash, but there's no hiring, although Greedster bonuses have set new records. Unemployment appears to be the only stable factor in the economy!
Meanwhile, back on the Washington stage, President Obama is touting his Jobs program, but its lift factor seems to approach that of a lead balloon's. Perhaps he needs to go back about 75 years into the archives and look under "C" for CCC and under "W" for WPA, and also check the signature of a REAL Democrat who launched those initiatives. Those jobs helped to build both my grammar school and my high school. They even painted the murals at the front of our assembly rooms, and even wrote some of the poetry in our textbooks. ("Hey, Rafe! Using public funds for murals and poetry?" You bet your sweet ass -- people spend that money for such as food and rent and clothes for their kids, all of which translates into more jobs instead of multi-million dollar bonuses sent off to the Cayman Islands or for yachts made in Holland!)
In the decade of my attendance, my public high school produced the likes of a Nobel laureate in medicine and Noam Chomsky, and flunked out Bill Cosby. But I suppose schools are a bad example, as you can easily ask any Republican, who will respond that they should all be privatized, and the Post Office is next -- while today's Democrats sit there with little response beyond numbness of the brain, completely oblivious that they're being shystered yet again.
Unbelievably -- if you're paying attention -- you can actually hear the call emerging for a remedy, and that would be -- really, I'm not making this up -- TARP II, or Son of TARP, if you will. It seems that the $16 TRILLION dollar cake (we honest folk were permitted to see only the frosting) was not BIG enough to get the job...that is the bonuses done, insufficiently rewarding so to speak, and that there still is some yacht-making capacity available in the Rotterdam area.
Where does this money actually come from? I'll admit to not knowing, but I suspect that we're involved, and that few honest persons know any more than that.
Now, looking forward, as is our fearless leader's wont, because looking backward would reveal a rather pathetic record, we can expect little of the Hopey-Changey rhetoric in Obama's 2012 campaign. What we are now actually getting in the major slave media, including the WEB, is grand visions of Obama's "Jobs Program," usually featuring a full head-shot of fearless leader, chin aloft. So apparently there's a program, or there will be, but there is actually no improvement in the unemployment statistic.
Oh well, our Dem faithful advise, these things always take time, and anyway it's much better than anything would be under the Repukians, or specifically as things were under Hoover, or things were under Stalin or Hitler for that matter. And here we have the underlying Democratic campaign message for 2012 -- a whispered but determined: "He's the Lesser-Evil."
And actually, I suppose they may have some kind of a case. Better a Nero fiddling than actually holding the torch to the people's house.
Yes, true but sickening. We know -- or certainly should know by now -- that the Repukians are onto the Dems' fecklessness, and that they will strike out boldly -- however treacherously -- to capture the imagination of the electorate and to kill a wimpy "lesser-evil" ploy in the cradle.
Algebraically, "lesser-evil" still results in "evil," or if that's too strong a word, then try "ineptitude," that permits the Greedsters to continue dominating our economy and to subvert our rights.
Wake up, Dems, and good people will join you. We need leadership of Courage, Intelligence, Goodwill and Integrity. Seek it honestly, and you'll find it.
And I and many good people whose votes you will otherwise not attract, will join you in a victory for decent leadership in 2012.
