As far as my hungry eyes can see
I imagine lovely entities
Integral and necessary to earthscape
Tall giants sleeping in their reveries
Land is meant to be peopled with these
To see them for me is ecstasy
Such is the experience for me of "Trees"
With them planethood is as it should be
Sun and air, soil and water
Beasts and flowers, birds and bees
We need them all and we need trees
Such was God's plan for earth conceived
"Human" should fit somewhere here
Limited and contained within
Not an infestation that kills all else
Otherwise we fall into sin
And then we turn upon each other
And war and ravage all the earth
Grabbing for what we did not already kill
Defiling the Planet-Mother that gave us birth
The day of reckoning has dawned
Just response to folly and crime
Earth is punishing her naughty children
But will we humans learn in time?
