With the creation and Treasury deposit of a new platinum coin
with a value of $1 trillion US Dollars, we would avert the
absurd-yet-imminent debt ceiling face-off in Congress in two quick and
simple steps! While this may seem like an unnecessarily extreme
measure, it is no more absurd than playing political football with the
US -- and global -- economy at stake.
[The game Republicans are playing is to refuse to allow the executive to spend money to pay the bills which THEY, CONGRESS have created by their earlier votes...all to blackmail the country and hold it hostage so they can get more deeper cuts to social spending while military continues to spend close to a Trillion PER YEAR (add up Pentagon, plus 'special' war funding, plus "black" CIA and DIA budgets declassified a few years ago to be another 80 billion , see "Overall U.S. intelligence budget tops $80 billion - Los Angeles Times" ] but pretending to care about high spending (while keeping corporate give-aways and titanic sized military spending they want to SLASH social spending...and willing to yet again hold the "debt ceiling" hostage to get it.
