What are you waiting for, Wisconsinites?! Recall Scott Walker before he can do any more damage to civil rights!

At high noon on Good Friday Scott Walker quietly signed 50 bills, many of which were specifically designed to roll back women's rights to the stone age. Under one new law, if a woman wants an abortion she must face a doctor -- alone -- while the physician graphically -- under threat of felony charge -- describes the procedure and makes sure the woman requesting this service is not there under duress.

This would apply to a 40-year-old housewife of a 14-year-old rape victim, who could not even have a parent with her for the, uh, "forced consultation."

Also now on the books is a ban on abortion coverage in certain health insurance policies, and enforced abstinence-only sex education in the public schools.

Walker also repealed the Equal Pay Act, meaning women can now -- legally -- be paid less than men for the same work. According to Think Progress:

"Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) quietly signed three controversial bills on the eve of a holiday weekend to significantly limit access to abortion services and sex education. Walker "signed the bills Thursday but didn't announce the move until mid-day Friday, when his office released a list of more than 50 bills he signed Thursday and Friday.
"-- A ban on abortion coverage in policies obtained through a health insurance exchange, set to be created under the federal health care reform law starting in 2014. The only exceptions would be in cases of rape, incest or medical necessity.

"-- A woman seeking an abortion must undergo an exam and consult with a doctor alone, away from her friends and family. The doctor must determine whether someone is pressuring the woman into the procedure. Doctors who break the law could be charged with a felony.

"-- Teachers in schools that offer sex education must stress abstinence as the only sure way to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Declares that sex education teachers do not have to address contraception. That's a dramatic shift from current state law, which requires teachers to instruct students on birth control options."

When asked what might happen if the recall effort in November is successful, Walker stated "God's got a plan for us" in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Rapture or recall, it doesn't really matter, as long as he's gone.

Kathy never expected a career in radio as a talk show producer. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy was completing her nursing degree when in 2001 - in an emergency - she was asked to fill in as the producer of Mike's program. Within a few (more...)
