Grinning Gods With a Wink and a Nod (poem)

Message Doug Soderstrom

Grinning gods once known for their power,
Have seemingly lost their say,
No longer mastering their servants on earth,
Humans now paving the way.

In an age long ago, much earlier in time,
Things were the other way around,
Gods gave the orders as they seemed in charge,
While men on their knees bowed down.

But now that we've entered a brand new age,
Men much brighter than before,
The gods sit back waiting to serve,
As men make preparations to go to war.

No doubt the earth seems safer of late,
Now that man is ruling the scene,
Nations displaying their weapons of choice,
Flags waving as church bells ring.

Grinning gods ruling with a wink and a nod,
Allowing men to play their silly games,
What can we do to help you dear sirs,
As your Earth""".. goes up in flames!
