Health Care and our President to be (whichever)

By       (Page 1 of 1 pages)   1 comment

"Obama is calling Republican opponent John McCain's health care proposal out of touch with American values."

There is truth in this but it's the pot calling the kettle black. Obama's plan is out of touch as well. Both candidates know what the American people want but they also know what the insurance companies (i.e. the Corporate folks)  want and it's obvious whom they are taking their marching orders from. Neither one of them even mention Single Payer as an option.

As far back as October of 2003 Polls showed that 62% of the American People favored single Payer and that number has since increased. The AMA is for Single payer, The ANA is for Single payer, the majority of Americans are in favor of and want single Payer Health care. California has passed a Single Payer Bill for the second time though "ARNIE" may veto it again. Both presidential candidates know all of this. They know it as well as they know their own names. Well maybe McCain forgets one or the other at times but then with his taxpayer-provided Health Care he doesn't have to worry about such matters. For that matter neither does Obama. What they apparently do feel they have to worry about is what the Insurance providers want, which we all know is MORE MONEY. Money that will flat disappear if we-the-people get the single payer health care we want and need

It can certainly be argued that a number of folks will be out of a job if Single Payer becomes a reality. But considering that three-quarters of a million people have already lost their jobs this year and two million more are already slated to join the ranks of the un-employed next year , I have to ask, "What real concern or action has been shown by our representatives for these jobs?" Representatives--who have been busy for years dismantling the laws that were put in place to protect we-the-people! To protect the right to organize, to be free from illegal search and seizure, to openly express their views and protest their government without fear of reprisal. Laws that discouraged companies from abandoning perfectly viable, profit making businesses on American soil to move them to third world countries. Countries that allow companies to rape their environment, including their citizens, as long as they share the ill gained wealth with the local dictators.  This being the case, I don't really think these guys will be able to convince anyone (should the issue arise) that they are against Single Payer Health care because the paper pushers at the insurance companies will be out of work. Of course they do have a great deal of concern for the paper pushers employers, the CEOS and their welfare!

Washington having convinced us they are doing away with "welfare programs" for the lazy undeserving folks (who can't find a job), while in reality they merely exchanged the recipients of the "welfare" dollars to the folks that need them the least and granted them huge raises and bonuses to boot. If Single Payer does ever see the light of day the tears our "leaders" will shed will be for their own loss in LOBBIEST funding. Money they've too long been stuffing their pockets with. Those tears won't be crocodile tears. They will be VERY, VERY REAL!!!!!!!!!

The game folks, is "Monopoly Under the Table" and the TWO-PARTY system has been used to perfect it to a fine art. If you want to play the game you need to know and abide by the rules. Just pit each side against the other, convince them that each is the other's enemy and they will be so busy fighting over the scraps thrown to them that they won't even notice what was actually on the table.

Wake up people, we're all in the same boat, black, white, red, yellow & brown. This is a class-system war we are in, from this standpoint, is no different than the system in India. Recognize it or not, like it or not, admit it or not the group "untouchables" is growing by leaps and bounds. Statistics showing the gap between the rate of pay for CEOS vs. Workers places the Wealthiest most powerful Nation on the Planet (that's us, well some of us) at number 84! That means we are half way up from the bottom of the group "third World Countries." We need to stop voting for what we are against (our own best interest) and start voting for what we are for. We need to realize that the package is just wrapping paper. It's what's inside that counts. Tall, short, thin, fat, male, female, straight, gay or Bi (as long as sexuality is left at home where it belongs) handsome/pretty, homely, unappealing, religious affiliation (again as long as it's left at home where it belongs) none of these things should ever enter into whom we chose to vote into office. This isn't "American Idol" folks, it's "Americas Survival" and just maybe if we had figured this out a long time ago we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now.

After 60 years I still retain enough naivete- to believe world peace is possible but being a realist have to face the fact that I won't be around to see it. In my youth some well meaning folks tried to teach me to respect my elders but my (more...)
