High Time for a Real Victory over the War of Lies and Government Indecency

The 7th of October marks the eighth anniversary of failure by the good people to end treacherous government, economic exploitation, the trashing of our Constitution, the enmity of the decent peoples of the world, the disgrace to our future history, and an atrocious war which has killed in excess of 6,000 American soldiers and 1.4 million others, mostly innocent civilians.

On October 5th,yet another small group of pacifist citizens who have their ethics right, their Constitutional insights straight and courage in abundance got beaten down and carriedoff from the gates of the White Houseby a combination of DC politzei and federales.

Noble effort? Sure. Results? Merely another example of morality and courage with no realistic impact upon the course of our government's servitude to greed interests, "patriot" imbeciles and madmen, and unaccountable treachery in general. The "peace movement" -- or at least the components of it capable of admitting stout endeavor by folks not of their own organization -- will celebrate the morality and courage exhibited and will suppose that somehow progress in the cause will be served by this example.

Sadly, it will not. This will be in fact accounted as another victory by the treacherous, and when the treacherous win they do not back off; no,actually encouraged they take the next treacherous step.

Is there nothing to be said then about the morality and the courage exemplified by these fine people who put themselves in harm's way of our own government's treachery? Of course there is, but nothing that promises actual change is served by persisting to dwell upon yet another moral and courageous example. It is served by finally grasping the reality that our efforts have indeed failed for eight long years, and that if we are ever to be rid of this tarbaby of treachery we must change our strategy and our methods.

Trust in this: the treachery will indeed advance and our situation will become more perilous if we do not counter it effectively. There is still time -- no one can predict how much but it will be of limited duration -- that the necessary change can come through passive means, that is not require the ultimate correction of revolution. Yes, there was another example on October 5, but there was no REAL progress. And there has been no REAL progress for the past eight years. It's time to get some.

It is time for the peace movement to get together. It is time to lay aside differences in organizational identities and postures of mission, and in nuance of message. It is time for personalities to step aside, favorite slogans to be silenced, "organization refinement" to be abandoned, and noble but futile efforts to stop. It is time for us to unite in common cause, one mass of citizens at the steps of power and not to leave until we aresatisfied that two very basic objectives are assured: (1) Peace, and (2) Decent Governance.

The site must be Washington, DC. The number of citizens required must be large: a million. More would be better. And those numbers must stay in place -- weeks, months, howeverlong -- until our two basic objectives are achieved. The size of our numbers and our determination to stay in place will constitute a logistical catastrophe and a propaganda nightmare for the war makers and our bought-and-paid-for politicians. Any attack upon us by police or military must be met with passive immobility. Any violence directed at us will serve to attract the attention of the media and the sympathy of the world community, as will our daily need for food, shelter, sanitation and medical care.

In summary, we need to cease the feckless, however noble, efforts of resistance to this war of eight years and to turnout the rottenness that inflicts our government. We can do this by putting aside our parochial interests and uniting in mass and determination at the seat of power

Do we want eight more years of this war, and then perhaps Iran, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela? Do we want a lifetime of rotten governance?

Let's get together and fix this. Let's start now.

I think we can do this. If we really want to.

What do you think?
