The 9-headed monster that Hillary Rodzilla Clinton is embedded with writhes with recognizable faces. All are Democratic Superdelegates. All are high government officials. All are coiled in a conspiratorial den of--shall I say it?--snakes.
Not all are committed to Clinton of course; Biden and Obama are uncommitted, or so they say. Al Franken, bastion of the progressive movement, and junior senator from Minnesota, the state where Bernie Sanders won 61% of the vote, is surely for Bernie Sanders, right? WRONG!--Franken has committed his vote to Clinton, and will rattle his tail for the continuance of the establishment (you know, Wall Street, Goldman Sachs, etc).
Patrick Leahy, senior senator from Vermont (the guy with Rodzilla's tail caressing his crown), will surely cast his vote for Bernie Sanders, junior senator from Vermont who got 86% of the vote, correct? WRONG! Leahy is committed to Clinton. He says he made a promise to her. Snakes have little loyalty to their own brood; they lay eggs and leave. Some senators have similar loyalty to their constituents. Leahy, like Franken, knows on which side the bread is buttered. Constituents can gather the crumbs.
The rest of the smiling serpent-like faces are firmly for Clinton, and thus Wall Street instead of Main Street. Even Nancy Pelosi, who spoke about the unfairness of the superdelegate system, is pledged to Clinton. A snake den is a cozy club.
The rest: Senator Chuck Schumer, Representative Jim McDermott, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Senator Barbara Boxer all pledge to the establishment candidate Clinton. Sadly, of course, this is before people can cast their vote. Corporate media, on a daily basis, continues the charade and coronation of Clinton, as already elected.
If the faces of all 717 superdelegates were superimposed on Hillary's reticulating and self aggrandizing ritualistic tango, it would appear a writhing cesspool of serpentine proportion, a scene worthy of Hades, Lord of the Underworld and God of Wealth and Greed, ruler of the river Styx. A beastly ballet of purloined party favors.
There are 717 superdelegates. Of them, Hillary has 460 who have prematurely-committed to her. Bernie has 23. The purpose of superdelegates is to break a tie, if two candidates have an equal number of votes, and determine the winner, based on who might perform best against a republican candidate. But to prematurely prejudice the process, and put the fix in, is like Pete Rose betting on baseball. It is unpatriotic, un-American, and a dereliction of duty.
Take a good look at all 717 snakes hiding in the grass. Go to:
In the 2012 Democratic Primary election, approximately 7,680,969
votes were cast. The 2016 democratic
primary election turnout is predicted to be much lower. Probably because people
feel hopeless when they listen to the Clinton establishment equivocations and lies. Using the 2012 roughly 7
million-plus votes cast, and dividing them equally by 717 superdelegates, gives
each superdelegate the equivalent of 10,713 popular votes.
Superdelegate votes should only be counted if candidates tie in the national primary election, and they should be representative of the popular vote in the geographical area where they were cast. That would be fair and democratic.
But the establishment superdelegates, like Bill Clinton and many others (15 governors, 39 senators, 165 representative, 230 DNC members, etc.) are pledged to Hillary in a premature and obscene conflict of interest maneuver, undoubtedly influenced by party favors, that thwarts the will of the people. It is un-American. The den of snakes needs to be removed.
