How one poll can cut it's own throat

I don't normally like to post a link to an article on another blog but this one on CNSNews ( conservative blog ) hosted an article that set out to support how conservatives rate Obama's performance below that of liberal states. Now that on itself seems to be a meaningless point to make were it not for an idea I took from their poll results.

Here is a link to the article for background.

Now my take on their poll. I have always held that Republicans have a harder time selling their policies to intelligent people who know what is going on in the nation. I matched their list of conservative v. liberal states with those state's education rankings and voila! Conservative states have the poorest education. ( note same numbers indicate states tied in rank, lower number is best )

Most Conservative, Obama Job Approval / Educational Ranking

1. Alabama, 41%...............27
2. Mississippi, 47%............45
3. Louisiana, 43%.............30
4. Idaho, 34%..................37
5. Oklahoma, 37%.............nr
6. Utah, 34%...................27
7. North Dakota, 44%........47
8. South Carolina, 45%......33
9. South Dakota, 46%.......42
10. Arkansas, 40%............42

Most Liberal, Obama Job Approval / Educational Ranking

1. Dist. of Columbia, 85%...21
2. Massachusetts, 56%.......2
3. Vermont, 54%................7
4. Oregon, 51%................16
5. New York, 57%..............5
6. Hawaii, 68%.................47
7. Washington, 51%.......... 8
8. California, 56%..............3
9. New Jersey, 52%.......... 4
10. Connecticut, 57%.........1

Don't you just love it when a Poll tells you something useful even when it was not what you intended it to prove? Is it any wonder Republicans are strongest in the states with the poorest education system...they can't sell their agenda to anyone who has an educated approach to politics.
