I am mad as hell, and I am not going to take Mitch McConnell anymore.
Mitch McConnell, the Prince of Fools, is quoted today as saying, "we
shouldn't base our energy programs on what happens in Japan". Why the hell
not, Mitch?! Does a major earthquake and a tsunami wave traveling at 600 miles
per hour, the speed of a jet, need to smack you in the head to get a point
across? Did you see the guy on a roof, in the ocean, who lost his dear wife by
a few seconds? Did you see the parents finding their beloved dead daughter in a
crushed school bus? It made me weep, but you probably didn't shed a tear.
What makes you think that what happened in Japan can't happen here?
Geologists in the state of Washington have discovered indications in substrata
sediment of major quakes that have happened in the past. The states of
Washington and California have nuclear reactors built on fault lines, as do
other states.
Radioactivity released in Japan can travel to the United States easily since
weather moves from West to East . Radioactivity released in California and
Washington state can easily travel to Washington DC and all the
places in between just as easily. Get a clue Mitch!
Like an ostrich with its head in the sand so it can't see approaching danger,
Mitch McConnell disregards the fact that cesium released into the air is
dangerous for 600 years. Should we take that chance that an earthquake can
affect our nuclear reactor program?
Of course, if you're a Republican who has bought into the nuclear
reactor business model, and taking contributions from the nuclear reactor industry
it's easy to see how you could want to bury your head in the sand, Mitch.
And if there is a nuclear problem here, you might have to bury your head in the
sand. After all, radioactive cesium is only dangerous for the first 600 hundred
years or so.
Mitch, you're a dinosaur. Stop trying to make everyone here become as
extinct as one.
And while I have your attention Mitch, instead of balancing the budget on the
backs of people who can't afford it, how about you and the rest of Congress
taking a pay reduction? How about you and Alan Simpson taking a
retirement reduction? You and Arrogant Alan want to cut entitlements. I thought
the word "entitled" meant, well, "Entitled"! A Congressman
gets 50% of their income as a retirement package after only a few years work.
The rest of us have to work a lifetime to get a fraction of what you get. And
take a cut on your health care too, like you're making us do. I can't afford
the co-pay on my prescriptions, my cane, my vision services, or my physical
therapy
You say Obama should go. I think it's you and people like Alan Simpson that should go, along with cold hearted Repugnicans and cold Tea Partyers. Most of the people here being liberals, my comments are like preaching to the choir. But all of us have friends who probably disagree with me.
Friends don't let friends vote Republican or drink Tea.
