This Op-Ed is not directed at rank and file Republicans. It is directed at their leadership; by the time you finish reading this article, if you're a Democrat, Progressive, Liberal, or even an honest Conservative, you are likely to agree that the title is correct and it may be an understatement in describing the individuals that created and approved "a vicious 25-minute infomercial that accuses President Barack Obama of harboring "hostility" towards America and ties him to malicious rhetoric." The public, those that still retain their dignity and sanity will be the judge of whether I am being too harsh on the Republican Leadership:

Infomercial also tries to tie Obama to "kill some crackers' rhetoric
Numerous Fox affiliates and an ABC affiliate are broadcasting a vicious 25-minute infomercial that accuses President Barack Obama of harboring "hostility" towards America and ties him to malicious rhetoric.
The 25-minute ad, called "Breaking Point," was paid for by The National Republican Trust PAC, and since Friday has run in Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Its existence was highlighted by the liberal blog ThinkProgress, a project of the progressive thinktank, Center for American Progress.
It chides the "destructive ideology of leftist revolutionaries," refers to the president as a "socialist," and claims the views of Democrats are "far too extreme for Americans to accept."
"During the 2008 campaign, President Obama pretended to turn his back on some extremists from his past," the infomercial says. "You want freedom? You're gonna have to kill some crackers! You gonna have to kill some of those babies." MUCH MORE
Those of us whom are opposed to dragging their fellow Americans through the gutter for political gain are outraged at this so-called "Infomercial" that belittles and discredits the President of the United States via outright lies and distortions that have become hallmarks of the Republican Party's efforts to "Reclaim America." The GOP and their Tea Party radicals have forgotten honor, respect, and debate; instead, they rely upon name calling, innuendos, and ever so often use downright lies to deceive and confuse America's electorate. Their attack dogs, otherwise known as Glenn Beck, Bill O'Riley, Sarah Palin and their their Fox Network cohorts seem to be in a race to see who can be the most outrageous and appear to be attempting to incite rebellion and sedition against the very government they are vowing to "take back from the socialists in Washington."
Let me be abundantly clear; the United States is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hamas is a designated terrorist organization; to allude to or state that the President of the United States is receiving campaign contributions from a terrorist organization, if the general public were stupid enough to believe such allegations, could be reason enough to rise up in armed rebellion against authority. Furthermore, we live in the digital age. Anything and everything that we do in public is fodder for those that seek to condemn and undermine the United States. A reader on RAW Story summed it up with this comment:
DFW : This filth has far-reaching consequences. Short-term effect, yes, there are plenty uneducated people in stats where this airs, whose votes will be influenced by such a broadcastprobably ten who believe it for every one who recognizes it for the garbage it is. But this is only the immediate effect.
The fact is, EVERY major country in the world is watching these broadcasts, and sending them back home for their leadership to see what is making America tick. Economic and/or military allies, partners, neutrals, opponents and outright enemies are watching what we let be our influences. China, Germany, India, England, Russia, France, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, Australia, the list goes on and on.
The more we let ourselves be identified with this kind of trash, and the more we allow our electorate to be swayed by it, the less likely our reliability, our currency, and our ability to be a dependable partner in matters military and economic will be trusted. We will turn out to be just one more has been, like every large, influential political entity on this earth has been from the Roman Empire to the British Empire, as well as smaller entities such as the Soviet Union. Voices of reason are slowly drowned and ignorance rises to the top to preside over the decline and fall of the once-great country. If we let the moneyed extremist right do the same to us, our fate will mirror that of every once-influential country that has gone before us. (My emphasis.) LINK
