Pakistan has been enjoying unique position in this war on terrorism as on the one hand it is the front line state in this war, but on the other hand this country has remained the base for terrorists. This is a fact that terrorism is the creation of Pakistan. Pakistan has created terrorism and then it got the contract for controlling this menace. Rulers have always played a dirty role. They have kept earning dollars while the common people were either killed or destroyed economically.

It is still a question as why the Americans have taken such a long time for reaching to the truth. They have really wasted a lot of time in tracking down the symbol of terrorism Osama bin Laden. There was a time when terrorists were patronized on the state level as that was the time when these terrorists were used in Kashmir and Afghanistan. It is interesting to note that the United States has also used these terrorists against the defunct USSR.

Now Pakistan is the target of Al-Qaeda. Pakistani security agencies are incapable to counter terrorists. Actually rampant corruption has ruined all institutions of Pakistan. Now it is the best time for Americans to come and take control of Pakistan directly. Now a stable Pakistan is in the interest of whole world.

There will be no denying the fact that Pakistani atom bomb is also insecure. There is impression in Pakistan that terrorists may reach to this deadly weapon. There is possibility that either the terrorists may carry out a suicide mission for destroying atom bomb or the Pakistani forces may blast this deadly weapon just for saving themselves from the accountability.

At the moment the whole world is feeling that Pakistan's nuclear weapons are unsafe. This is the fact that Pakistani weapons are insecure. Now this will really be a big test for the Obama administration as how they can deal the situation. According to media report,  head of Nato said Tuesday he was confident Pakistan's nuclear weapons were safe, but admitted it was a matter of concern, the day after the worst assault on a Pakistani military base in two years.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen was in Afghanistan on a one-day visit and met President Hamid Karzai to discuss the transition of security from Nato-led troops to Afghan security forces, which is due to begin in July.

Rasmussen was asked if Nato was concerned about Pakistan's nuclear weapons after it took Pakistani forces 17 hours to reclaim control of a naval air base from Taliban attackers and following the death of Osama bin Laden.

"I feel confident that Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is safe and well protected," said Rasmussen. "But of course it is a matter of concern and we follow the situation closely."

The attack in Karachi, the worst on a base since the army headquarters was besieged in October 2009, piled further embarrassment on Pakistan three weeks after the al Qaeda leader was found living in the city of Abbottabad, close to the country's military academy.

Rasmussen was scheduled to wind up his Afghan visit on Tuesday after spending a night and a full day in Afghanistan.

The End
