Israel: "on high above all nations of the earth"

Follow Me on Twitter     Message Bob Johnson
In Deuteronomy 28:1 we read the words put in God's mouth by the ancient Hebrews who wrote the Bible. Concerning Israel they wrote, "the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:" It seems United States politicians have taken over "the LORD'S" responsibility to promote Israel over all. (Could this be a separation of church and state issue?) For decades American politicians of both parties have been funding and arming the Jewish state with TENS OF BILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS TAKEN FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE as Israel runs roughshod over its neighbors. Then, when Israel's victims dare to fight back, the politicians follow Israel's lead and label them "terrorists."

It looks like this disgusting practice by the political whores in Washington is going to get even more brazen and unreasonable. With the Republicans running the House of Representatives come January, they are going to be attacking foreign aid. This is a tricky problem since they do not want to offend Israel and its very powerful political lobby in the U.S. To avoid doing anything that could be harmful to their careers as "public servants" it looks like they may be even more open about their subservience to Israel. Eric Cantor, the only Jewish Republican member of the House and his fellow neoconservative warmongers are considering removing Israel from the classification of foreign aid recipient and putting the BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars the politicians of both parties give away to the Jewish state in the national defense budget. Cantor, who will probably become the House majority leader, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, "Part of the dilemma is that Israel has been put in the overall foreign aid looping. I'm hoping we can see some kind of separation in terms of tax dollars going to Israel."

The Israel lobby has some concerns about this. They like to keep Israel's sucking of American tax dollars as low key as possible. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency article explains, "elevating Israel above other nations might be counterproductive in an American electorate still made up of diverse ethnic groups; and such a designation would make Israel more beholden to U.S. policy and erode its independence."

Regarding the first issue, the horse is already out of the barn on that one! American politicians have been elevating Israel above all other nations including their own ever since LBJ stopped American fighter jets from coming to the aid of the U.S.S. Liberty when Israel was attacking it and killing American sailors and Marines on June 8, 1967. Besides, they can't be too shy about this since those exact words are in the Hebrew Bible/Torah/Old Testament in Deuteronomy 28:1 as mentioned above.

Regarding Israel ever becoming "beholden" to the United States, that is nothing but tragic comedy. Israel does what Israel wants with very, very few exceptions. And not only are U.S. politicians so beholden to Israel that they give them the BILLIONS of U.S. tax dollars every years along with massive amounts of deadly weapons, but they even start wars for the Jewish state as they did, and are doing, in Iraq. Retired Israeli General Avraham Rotem makes clear the war in Iraq is for Israel's benefit when he said, "A (US) war with Iraq serves Israel's strategic interests because it wants Saddam gone. Someone says, 'You sit back, we'll take care of it'--what's better than that? - (St. Petersburg Times, March 15, 2003, p. 5A). And Philip Zelikow, a long time George W. Bush insider openly said the war against Iraq was for the "security of Israel." Israel and the Hebrew Bible based neoconservatives are now pushing for a U.S. war with Iran. Will Iran be next? How many American lives and how much American money will the politicians sacrifice on the alter for Israel and for their own selfish political careers?
