Kanye West, aka Ye, embraces the idea of the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement. A key teaching of this religious organization is that the true Jews of the Hebrew Bible/Christian Old Testament, are the black people of the world. This claim of blacks being the true Jews/Israelites is shared by West's fellow black celebrity, the famous basketball star Kyrie Irving. Recently Irving has been in the news due to his tweet about a film called From Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America. The film's major point is to prove that the "true" Jews of the Hebrew Bible/Christian Old Testament are black people and not the people who are generally recognized as Jews.

White gentile people also make claim to being the true Israelites and God's true chosen people of the Hebrew Bible/Christian Old Testament. This is seen in the Christian Identity movement. Just as the ancient Jewish clergymen who wrote the Bible claimed the Jews are God's chosen people, they also wrote of non-Israelites/non-Jews/gentiles as being cursed by God. Both Christian Identity and the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement teach that people outside of their race are cursed by God. Within the Christian Identity movement is a group called Phineas Priests, based on the story found at Numbers 25:6-13, which is about the Jew, Phineas, who wins favor with God by murdering a fellow Jewish man and a gentile woman the Jewish man had taken as his partner. In August of 1999 a member of the Phineas Priests attacked a Jewish day-care center, wounding three children and two adults. He then murdered a Filipino man before being captured by police.

As seen by the beliefs of the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement and Christian Identity, when the ancient Jewish clergymen who wrote the Hebrew Bible claimed God had chosen the Jews "above all people that are upon the face of the earth" (Deuteronomy 7:6), they made Jews the envy of all gullible people for all time, or for at least as long as the Bible is taken seriously.

I watched the film From Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America. It relies on the Bible, primarily the Hebrew Bible, to make its point that the true Jews of the Bible are black people. Overall, using the Bible to "prove" anything is meaningless since the Bible is ambiguous and can be used to mean whatever you want it to mean. However, the Hebrew Bible/OT is clear in its claim that God favors the Jews over everyone else and that God wants a strong Jewish state to rule the world (Deuteronomy 28:1 states "...the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth"). Anyone who can claim to be the "true" Jews of the Bible automatically has a superior position, believed to be Divinely given, over everyone else.

When we objectively read the Hebrew Bible/Christian Old Testament, we read about the ancient Jews slaughtering people and ripping unborn babies out of pregnant women (Hosea 13:16), committing genocide (including rape of "women children") against gentile people (Numbers 31), claiming God commanded them to not own their fellow Jews as slaves, but to only own gentile people and their children as slaves "for ever" (Leviticus 25:44-46), etc., etc. The American Founder and Deist Thomas Paine, in The Age of Reason, addressed the question of why anyone would believe God chose the ancient Jews as his chosen people. Paine wrote,

Could we permit ourselves to suppose that the Almighty would distinguish any nation of people by the name of His chosen people, we must suppose that people to have been an example to all the rest of the world of the purest piety and humanity, and not such a nation of ruffians and cut-throats as the ancient Jews were; a people who, corrupted by and copying after such monsters and impostors as Moses and Aaron, Joshua, Samuel and David, had distinguished themselves above all others on the face of the known earth for barbarity and wickedness. If we will not stubbornly shut our eyes and steel our hearts, it is impossible not to see, in spite of all that long-established superstition imposes upon the mind, that the flattering appellation of His chosen people is no other than a lie which the priests and leaders of the Jews had invented to cover the baseness of their own characters, and which Christian priests, sometimes as corrupt and often as cruel, have professed to believe.

If more people were aware of the true teachings in the Bible, no one would want to be the "true" Jews of the Bible.

Albert Einstein addressed the ridiculous biblical claim that the Jews are God's chosen people. In his famous "God Letter" Einstein wrote:

"For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstition. And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong... have no different quality for me than all other people. As far as my experience goes, they are also no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything 'chosen' about them." (Now that Israel is a nuclear power with nuclear weapons of mass destruction, Einstein would be disappointed in how the Jewish state promotes and practices religious violence via its cruel and expanding Hebrew Bible-based occupation of Palestinian land. He warned the Jewish state about doing this when he wrote, "Should we be unable to find a way to honest cooperation and honest pacts with the Arabs, then we have learned absolutely nothing during our 2,000 years of suffering and deserve all that will come to us.")

Humanity needs to evolve its thinking and mindset out of the mire of the ancient "revealed" religions/superstitions. Deism is the very best means of carrying out this much needed evolution!
