MapElection.org is a playful website that shows how citizens can use maps to "audit" the results of an election.

The user is invited to match maps built out of data from a local election, and to watch as patterns spring to light.

MapElection's unique feature is that it makes the differences between maps "flicker," so that similarities and differences leap out instantly and effortlessly.  This makes it fun and easy to discover patterns and anomalies--much like a video game, but one with real-world value.

A two-minute video tutorial is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtZYxVQ_XqY&feature=youtu.be
